Laura’s Old-Fashioned Gingerbread

Irresistible, generous rectangles of chewy, buttery, gingery, old-fashioned biscuit-style gingerbread, made from Laura’s own recipe. A firm favourite with both grown-ups and kids. Very more-ish!
Available by mail order

Snickerdoodles: crisp and crunchy, buttery and delicious.  Even people who don’t eat sweets go for these.  Great on their own, with tea or coffee, a glass of milk, or to dress up a dessert of fresh fruit or ice cream.

Real Chocolate-Chip Cookies:  a classic for good reason. These are the genuine article, made from a recipe that goes back to the 1920s. All butter, real vanilla and real chocolate make the difference.

Brownies with walnuts:  these are neither too cakey, nor too fudgey, with just the right amount of chew and a balance of intense chocolate and sweetness.  Great for picnics or afternoon tea, or with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and fresh fruit or chocolate sauce for a decadent pudding.

Banana Chocolate Chip Bars:  a great combination: rich and moist with banana, and real chocolate chips.

Dobosh torte:  an impressive and sophisticated Austrian-style cake made of 12 layers of
vanilla-bean-infused sponge separated with a Belgian chocolate glaze, and topped with chocolate glaze
and praline powder (made with hazelnuts and caramelised sugar).  This rectangular cake is spectacular
and delicious; it’s best sliced thinly, so it goes a long way, and also stores very well. Superb for a
coffee morning, afternoon tea, or the dessert table where it will be appreciated as much for its taste as
its elegance.
